About The Position

Diamond Landscaping, a leader in luxury residential landscaping for high-net-worth clients in the Los Angeles area for 30 years, is seeking an Irrigation Technician. This role is vital to our high-performing organization, providing irrigation expertise and knowledge. The technician will be responsible for servicing and maintaining high-end residential irrigation systems for luxury properties and performing day-to-day small-scale landscape enhancement services. Typical projects include troubleshooting, repair, optimization, and management of irrigation systems, with a focus on water efficiency and system reliability. Pay will depend on experience.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of irrigation maintenance, repair, and installation or related experience, including the ability to read irrigation plans and irrigation system layouts.
  • Knowledge of irrigation systems and components, including drip and spray systems, controllers, pumps, sensors, smart controllers, and valves.
  • Ability to prioritize job responsibilities, solve problems, work within tight deadlines, and work independently.
  • Customer service focus, adherence to all safety policies, and attention to detail that result in high-quality production.
  • Excellent communication in English and Spanish (oral and written).
  • Valid CDL and clean driving record.
  • Strong attention to detail, extraordinary levels of discretion, flexibility, and willingness to work closely with all levels of our teams.
  • High level of integrity and self-motivation.

Responsibilities

  • Perform day-to-day inspections, maintenance, and repairs on irrigation systems utilizing different types, sizes, and brands.
  • Evaluate and successfully repair issues, including broken heads, controller failures, valve malfunctions, and poor wiring.
  • Periodically adjust irrigation schedules to address seasonal changes and to uphold water conservation requirements; understand water management issues such as budgeting and conversions: GPM, GPH, HCF, acres, and feet.
  • Install, retrofit, and upgrade irrigation systems to optimize performance and support changing landscapes; able to understand basic electrical and electronic circuitry and perform minor controller repairs.
  • Monitor all aspects of projects, ensuring that strict quality standards are upheld and that all policies and procedures are followed.
  • Communicate all activities and document work to ensure seamless operations on all projects.
  • Utilize equipment and tools safely, ensuring that all company standards are followed, and all sites are effectively and efficiently operated.
