The Irrigation Technician performs essential job responsibilities and duties related to irrigation functions. This role involves assisting in various irrigation tasks, sharing responsibility for basic equipment maintenance (checking and changing oil/grease), and supervising daily truck/trailer setup. The technician manages equipment and supplies for landscape maintenance projects, ensures all equipment has proper safety devices, and maintains equipment in good operating condition. They operate light/heavy equipment effectively and according to regulations, reporting any problems with job sites or equipment immediately. Safety is paramount, requiring proper use and maintenance of task-specific PPE, adherence to all company policies and safety guidelines, and ensuring a safe environment for colleagues, vendors, and clients. The role also involves interfacing with clients when needed to establish customer relationships, performing quality control, recognizing and reporting irrigation deficiencies, and communicating with the Operations Manager and Account Manager about job site status. Additionally, the technician participates in training programs for irrigation procedures. Specific duties may include providing estimates, managing assigned projects with effective water management, and recognizing drainage deficiencies and problem soils.
