About The Position

Comanche Trace is seeking a qualified Irrigation Technician to operate, maintain, and repair a complex irrigation system. This role involves managing leaks, electrical systems, and control wires, as well as performing preventative maintenance on the lake re-circulation system and water features. The technician will also be responsible for identifying and adjusting sprinkler heads, managing inventory of parts and tools, and maintaining knowledge of pump station maintenance. This position requires prioritizing repairs, conducting regular system checks, and performing winterization and blowouts. Safety is a key component of this role, along with other duties as required.

  • Inventory management skills for parts and tools
  • Working knowledge of pump station maintenance
  • Ability to prioritize irrigation breaks and manage time efficiently
  • Experience with winterization and blowout procedures for irrigation systems

Responsibilities

  • Operates, maintains, and repairs a complex irrigation system, including leaks on the distribution lines, electrical system, and irrigation control wire.
  • Performs preventative maintenance on the irrigation system including the lake re-circulation system and water features.
  • Determines wet and dry areas for adjustments of sprinkler heads.
  • Properly inventories and stocks all irrigation parts and tools in order to minimize down time.
  • Maintains working knowledge of pump station maintenance requirements.
  • Reports any serious irrigation breaks immediately to the HOA landscape manager and maintains a daily log of completed repairs.
  • Prioritizes irrigation breaks and uses time efficiently.
  • Conducts monthly checks of all zones and heads in the HOA common areas.
  • Routinely inspects irrigation system components to ensure system is operating properly.
  • Responsible for winterization and blowout of irrigation system, including all water lines, valves, and pump stations.
  • Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
  • Performs other duties as required.
