About The Position

The Irrigation Technician will work closely with the Director of Agronomy and the Golf Course Superintendent to ensure effective irrigation system operations. This role is responsible for the maintenance and repair of all irrigation equipment on the golf course, including sprinklers, water lines, pumps, valves, and other plumbing equipment. The technician will oversee the implementation of irrigation systems, monitor their performance, and maintain an inventory of necessary parts.

Requirements

• Three (3) to five (5) years of experience.
• Experience in golf course irrigation installation and repair.
• Experience in operating golf course irrigation equipment.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Director of Agronomy and the Golf Course Superintendent to ensure effective irrigation system operations and schedule of operations, maintenance, and additional construction needed.
• Maintain the irrigation equipment for the golf course, which includes sprinklers, water lines, pumps, suction devices, valves and other plumbing equipment.
• Oversee the implementation of the irrigation systems, including mechanical and electrical systems.
• Maintain all irrigation systems by monitoring and evaluating overall performance of the irrigation system.
• Repair sprinklers and pipes on the golf course, when needed, while regularly checking the conditions of the equipment, and keeping them clean and adjusted for the course.
• Work without supervision on a range of irrigation maintenance on a day to day basis.
• Maintain inventory of parts needed and associated with the irrigation system and order new parts when needed.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.
