About The Position

The Irrigation Manager will schedule, direct personnel, and resources towards providing quality, cost-effective irrigation services to clients. Irrigation Managers also support the CRM in estimating, design and client meetings as needed. Irrigation Managers will also sell irrigation services to clients, with or without base maintenance contracts, on their own. The Irrigation Manager will oversee a commercial landscape portfolio and multiple service teams. The Irrigation Manager will be responsible for training and developing these individuals and providing day-to-day operational scheduling and guidance.

Requirements

  • Must be able to perform job responsibilities that require physical endurance
  • Must have experience with two wire and common wire systems
  • Must be able to install and program irrigation clocks/controllers
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Adhere to Company’s safety policy and ensure that the public and co-workers will be safe while performing job duties
  • Must have the ability to read blueprints
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Computer skills to include, outlook, word, and excel
  • Qualified candidates must be able to perform job responsibilities that require physical endurance and the ability to work outdoors in variable weather conditions
  • Must have minimum of 5-10 years of green industry experience (required)
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient in diagnosing, repairing, and installing two-wire and multi-strand systems
  • Effective time management skills

  • Irrigation certification (preferred)
  • 2- or 4-year college degree preferred or equivalent irrigation experience

Responsibilities

  • Incorporates safe work practices in job performance and compliance of Company safety policies.
  • Managing all irrigation services, including the coordination of all materials, people, equipment, and subcontractors required to produce quality work
  • Knowledge of the watering needs of the different landscapes and municipal, county and state requirements while proactively managing irrigation controller programing throughout the year
  • As necessary, performing hands-on work with crews to meet work and scheduling demand
  • Working with Operations to identify staffing needs, hire new crew, and prepare daily/weekly crew schedules
  • Hands-on training and support of crew members, including proper operation of equipment, safety, and quality standards. Develop irrigation staff to be knowledgeable of product line, customer needs and achieving the departments sales goals
  • Maintaining and managing all required administrative systems, including but not limited to time sheets, job databases, and service schedules
  • Ordering Irrigation related materials, monitor costs and maintain a controlled inventory
  • Manages irrigation system
  • Maintain job and division financial performance goals set by leadership
  • Performs other duties as required
