About The Position

The Irrigation Field Manager provides high-level operational leadership and technical expertise for the irrigation department. This role is responsible for the strategic management of field operations, including supervising Senior Technicians and crews, scheduling projects, and ensuring quality assurance. The Field Manager ensures that all irrigation and low-voltage lighting services are delivered profitably, safely, and in accordance with the highest industry standards, while serving as a key liaison between field staff and regional leadership.

  • Overseeing fleet and equipment maintenance for the irrigation department.
  • Managing inventory levels and coordinating with vendors.
  • Acting as a primary contact for customers and contractors.
  • Providing professional updates on project status, schedule adjustments, and completion timelines to the production and sales teams.
  • Overseeing and, when necessary, operating heavy machinery (trenchers, excavators, skid steers).
  • Ensuring all operators are trained and certified.
  • Leading irrigation-related winterization programs.
  • Managing crews during emergency snow removal operations.
  • Partnering with the HR team to interview, hire, and orient new technicians and field staff.
  • Developing and implementing technical training programs.
  • Leading the participation and mentoring of students within the company’s internship initiatives.
  • Conducting formal performance reviews for Senior Technicians and staff.
  • Providing ongoing coaching and professional development.
  • Documenting personnel actions, including attendance and disciplinary measures.
  • Enforcing company policies regarding professional conduct, uniform standards, and work ethic.
