Requirements

  • Strong knowledge related to irrigation systems and equipment
  • Proven ability to lead teams effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety standards
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on troubleshooting irrigation issues quickly and efficiently
  • Ability to read technical drawings, plans, and specifications for landscape projects
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations related to water use and sustainable landscaping practices
  • Effective communication skills for coordinating with clients, vendors, and team members

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a regular maintenance schedule for all water management technicians.
  • Conduct routine inspections to identify and address any issues promptly.
  • Coordinate with technicians all necessary repairs, including fixing leaks, replacing faulty components, or adjusting sprinkler heads.
  • Monitor and optimize irrigation schedules, adjusting watering patterns based on weather conditions, plant types, and system performance to conserve water and promote plant health.
  • Implement water-saving technologies and practices to promote sustainability.
  • Monitor water usage and adjust irrigation schedules based on weather conditions.
  • Stay informed about local water regulations and ensure compliance.
  • Lead and manage a team of irrigation technicians, providing guidance and training to ensure high-quality work and adherence to industry standards.
  • Provide training on proper installation, maintenance, and repair techniques.
  • Foster a culture of safety and efficiency within the team.
  • Work closely with asset managers and as needed, clients, to understand their specific irrigation needs.
  • Provide recommendations for improvements or upgrades to existing systems.
  • Address client inquiries or concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Stay updated on advancements in irrigation technology.
  • Integrate smart irrigation systems and sensors for more precise control.
  • Utilize data analytics to optimize irrigation schedules and identify areas for improvement.
  • Maintain detailed records of irrigation installations and maintenance activities.
  • Keep an inventory of spare parts and equipment.
  • Manage a team of technicians' schedules and daily/weekly time approvals.
  • Stay informed about local, state, and federal regulations related to water usage and irrigation.
  • Ensure that all irrigation practices comply with environmental regulations.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency.
  • Stay informed about industry best practices.
