About The Position

This role involves coordinating the inventory of power tools, equipment, and hoses for the Structural crew. The Foreman will analyze complex structural ironwork projects, recommend alternative strategies, and review project status reports to ensure timely completion. A key aspect of the role is maintaining a strong safety culture, ensuring high-quality work, and managing crews effectively. The Foreman is responsible for identifying and mitigating safety hazards and performing other duties as assigned by supervision.

Requirements

  • Minimum of four (4) years or more of refinery maintenance/turnaround/or construction experience.
  • Knowledge of structural iron repair, maintenance, and preventative maintenance methods, practices, and procedures
  • Must know how to read and interpret structural drawings.
  • Must be able to pass the Craft Skills Test at or above 70% or complete the NCCER certification for your craft.
  • Must have a good understanding of Matrix Service policies and procedures.
  • Completed the Matrix Service Safety training, Process Safety Management training, S.T.A.R.T. Class and Client / Site specific training.
  • To obtain and maintain an active status within the required drug testing program.
  • Subject to random drug screenings.
  • Must be able to complete the Matrix Service Safety training and Client / Site specific training.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an active status within the DISA drug testing program.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of applicable safety and code standards specific to the structural ironwork trade, including OSHA standards

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the inventory of power tools, equipment and hoses for Structural crew
  • Analyze complex structural ironwork projects and recommend alternative strategies to complete the same project
  • Reviewing project status reports prepared by the general foreman and reallocating resources to ensure projects are completed on time.
  • Maintain Safety Accountability Procedures.
  • Assure that a high quality of work is being maintained.
  • Reviewing individual crew daily Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) for compliance, and attending weekly crew safety meeting to make sure all employees are engaged in conversation
  • Have good supervisor skills for managing crews.
  • Promote a strong Safety culture within the crews supervised.
  • Identify safety hazards you or other employees may be subject to and take all necessary corrective action to eliminate or minimize hazards.
  • Perform all other job-related duties as requested by supervision.
