The IR/Cath Lab Tech is responsible for assisting the Physician during procedures, analyzing hemodynamics and EKG, removing sheaths, and using sterile technique to set up the laboratory. As an IR/Cath Lab Tech, you will assist physicians during interventional radiology and cardiac catheterization procedures, prepare procedure rooms, equipment, and supplies to ensure readiness and sterility, and scrub, circulate, or monitor cases in accordance with role assignment and department needs. You will also operate imaging equipment (fluoroscopy, X‑ray, hemodynamic monitoring systems) during procedures, prepare contrast media, catheters, wires, and interventional devices, and monitor patient vital signs and hemodynamic data during procedures and report changes promptly. Ensuring proper radiation safety practices for patients, physicians, and staff, maintaining sterile technique and adhering to infection control and safety standards, and documenting procedural information accurately in the electronic health record are also key responsibilities. Additionally, you will assist with patient preparation, positioning, and post‑procedure care and transport, clean, restock, and maintain procedural equipment and inventory, respond appropriately to emergency situations following department protocols, and collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other members of the procedural team.
