The Growth Team at WHOOP is a fast-paced, experimentation-driven group focused on driving user acquisition, activation, and retention. We take a data-driven approach to everything we do, frequently measuring the performance of our features and iterating based on those results. As an iOS Engineer II, you will play a key role in building mobile experiences that directly impact member engagement and growth. You’ll collaborate cross-functionally to deliver high-impact features, contribute to the evolution of the iOS architecture, and help scale the WHOOP app to support millions of members worldwide.

Requirements

  • Product-minded engineer with empathy for the member experience.
  • 2–4 years of professional experience building, testing, debugging, and shipping native iOS apps.
  • Strong proficiency in Swift and experience with modern iOS architecture and lifecycle management.
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs and networking best practices.
  • Knowledge of best-practice architecture and modular design patterns, such as MVVM.
  • Experience using Git and version control workflows.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, data-driven environment.
  • Team player who thrives on continuous learning and direct feedback.
  • Strong commitment to embracing and leveraging AI tools in day-to-day tasks, ensuring AI-assisted work aligns with the same high-quality standards as personal contributions.

Responsibilities

  • Work on a cross-functional team that collaborates with data science, product, and backend engineering.
  • Develop and maintain native iOS product features in Swift and integrate with RESTful backend services.
  • Contribute to feature ideation, planning, design, and development.
  • Document architecture and new features to support long-term maintainability.
  • Analyze metrics and member feedback to uncover bugs and opportunities to improve app stability and engagement.
  • Participate in the release pipeline, including app building, signing, testing (e.g., via TestFlight), and App Store submission.
  • Use tools like Jira, Confluence, and GitHub to organize and communicate work.
