About The Position

Incumbent provides expertise required to monitor Intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring (IONM) cases in the operating room which may include but not limited to; spinal, vascular, brachial plexus and cranial surgeries. May require but not limited to; Somatosensory evoked potentials, Transcranial motor evoked potentials, Auditory evoked potential, Functional cortical mapping, Cranial nerve electromyography, Lateral spread, Limb Electromyography and D-waves.

Requirements

Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
Must possess current CNIM Certificate from ABRET
Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
Minimum three (3) years experience as an IONM Tech
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Current BLS certification required by time of hire
Advanced knowledge of EP and IOM acquisition and artifact detection/elimination
Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
Must be able to provide proof of work authorization

Nice To Haves

Previous experience working in the UC Irvine Medical Center operating room
Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
IOM experience with Craniotomy cases
Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, or related field

Responsibilities

Monitor Intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring (IONM) cases in the operating room.
Perform monitoring for spinal, vascular, brachial plexus, and cranial surgeries.
Utilize techniques such as Somatosensory evoked potentials, Transcranial motor evoked potentials, Auditory evoked potential, Functional cortical mapping, Cranial nerve electromyography, Lateral spread, Limb Electromyography and D-waves.
