About The Position

The Integrated Operations Center (IOC) Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the airport terminal. This role will be responsible for critical priorities including gate planning, terminal coordination, trouble-shooting issues, effective handling of irregular operations, monitoring critical systems, responding to calls from both internal and external stakeholders, dispatching resources as needed as well as conducting terminal safety inspections. This role is critical for ensuring operational efficiency, safety, and regulated compliance; all to help provide a seamless passenger and guest experience.

  • Strong computer and presentation skills (Microsoft PowerPoint and similar programs)
  • A passion for learning new systems and aviation industry specific information
  • Ability to carry/lift, move, transport and position items weighing up to 50 lbs
  • An independent self-starter, calm under pressure and motivated to apply practical experience, technical expertise and innovative ideas to the success of the project
  • High school graduation
  • Excellent written and verbal communications combined with critical thinking skills.
  • Organization and planning skills crucial for multi-tasking while prioritizing and executing tasks.
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment and diffuse and manage situations as they arise.
  • Ability to obtain appropriate security clearance and other associated authorization status may be required.

Nice To Haves

  • A preference for working with an entrepreneurial focused and fast-paced team
  • 2+ years in an operations administration or customer service role, preferably in an aviation or airport setting
  • Previous experience in an airport terminal, transportation logistics, or a similar operational environment.
  • Current or previous terminal management experience.
  • Previous experience working effectively in a highly regulated, structured or government-based work environment
  • Previous experience interacting with internal terminal systems (BMS, FAS, SCADA, etc.)
  • Familiarity with safety procedures and environment regulations
  • Relevant university or college degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Gate planning, ground to aircraft communications and ramp coordination operations.
  • Ensuring flight information screens are updated as required and terminal communication.
  • Monitoring terminal activities and takes appropriate steps to mitigate any safety, security or other issues and concerns as they arise.
  • Responds to: Terminal and airside events including breaches and guest services concerns. Operations Center calls, emails from customers, airport terminal tenants and government regulating agencies.
  • Monitoring and responding to alerts from multiple technological systems — both security and non-security — within the operations center.
  • Responsible for Security CCTV monitoring, alarm response, and investigations of breaches and terminal access control.
  • Curbside and airside management.
  • Coordination with on-site government personnel to help resolve concerns relating to terminal operations. Managing incidents with emergency response personnel, other departments, government authorities, and service providers.
  • Maintaining records of all incidents in the electronic Operations log and analyzes Operations log entries to identify areas for improvement to the overall passenger experience. Documenting and maintaining shift records and ensuring equipment/systems remain functional.
  • Identifying and reporting any areas of underperformance; both in terms of internal processes and from external partners or stakeholders.
  • Monitoring BMS, FAS, SCADA and other systems for alarms, trouble and status as required.
  • Fielding support calls from terminal stakeholders (Airlines, Ground handling, Commercial tenants, TSA, CBP, etc.)
  • Creating, managing and tracking the status of work orders in applicable system.
  • Supporting SOP development and reviewing existing procedures specific to the operations center function.
  • Other duties and responsibilities commensurate with the position may be assigned.
