About The Position

The Bureau of Payable Services is looking for an Invoice Processor 1 to play an important role supporting agencies by reviewing invoices and helping payments move smoothly through the system. This position plays a key role in checking invoices and making sure payments follow all required rules and procedures. Your work supports accurate financial processing for agencies and vendors across the Commonwealth.

Requirements

  • Two years of experience performing bookkeeping or clerical accounting work; or An Associate Degree in accounting or business administration including or supplemented by six credits of accounting.
  • At least one year of SAP experience.
  • At least one year of accounts payable experience.
  • Ability to perform essential job functions.

Nice To Haves

  • Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.

Responsibilities

  • Examine vendor and grantee invoices to ensure they meet legal and administrative requirements
  • Access SAP Workflow to compare invoice details with purchase orders or funding documents
  • Enter invoice information into enterprise systems and confirm that vendor details and coding are correct
  • Research duplicate or incorrect invoices and document reasons for rejections when needed
  • Use Oracle and DocFinity to process, verify, and route invoices to the correct workflow queues
  • Complete accurate indexing of invoices in Intelligent Capture so they reach the proper processing group
