About The Position

This person serves as an intern in the Investment Services department. The intern will handle a limited scope of client service and client account administration, prepare department reporting, and resolve issues by coordinating activities and deadlines. They will also process correspondence, files, and perform other specific duties as needed. The role requires functioning effectively as a team player, utilizing internal technology, and ensuring all Southside policies and procedures are followed. Maintaining confidentiality of sensitive Bank information and providing excellent customer service are key aspects of this position. The intern will also be responsible for complying with audit policies, procedures, and applicable laws and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and related anti-money laundering laws.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, or working towards obtaining a Bachelor’s degree, preferably a (B.A.) in business, finance or related area preferred.
  • Prior experience in banking industry preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Initiates outbound calls to clients to schedule appointments for client reviews, confirming appointments, and responds and communicates with clients regarding issues.
  • Handles a limited scope of client service and client account administration.
  • Prepares department reporting as needed.
  • Resolves issues by coordinating activities and deadlines, preparing reports, and identifying solutions.
  • Processes correspondence, files, and performs other specific duties as needed.
  • Functions effectively as a team player with all facets of the organization and outside partners.
  • Utilizes internal technology (software applications) to maximum advantage in the performance of duties.
  • Ensures all Southside policies and procedures are followed in the performance of duties.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all sensitive Bank information.
  • Maintains a positive and caring atmosphere for customers and employees consistent with Southside Bank’s mission, CORE Values, and Blue Book culture guide.
  • Provides enthusiastic, professional, and courteous service to Southside Bank customers and employees.
