Investment Reporting Associate

EARNEST Partners•Atlanta, GA

About The Position

The Investment Reporting Associate owns the full lifecycle of institutional client reporting and builds the workflows that deliver it, from investment data validation and pipeline management through production and delivery of client-facing performance packages. The role combines investment reporting with data systems to ensure clients receive accurate, timely, well-structured performance information while continuously improving the systems and workflows that produce it. The associate will have broad exposure to Investment, Product Management, Technology, and Compliance, with responsibility for reporting workflows that connect these teams to clients. The role is intended for someone who wants to improve and build reporting processes, not simply execute established procedures, in a high-accountability environment focused on evolving the firm's operating model.

Requirements

  • Experience in investment data, analytics, or institutional client reporting within asset management or a closely related investment-management environment.
  • Working knowledge of investment data concepts, including performance, attribution, positions, and risk, and understanding of how data-integrity failures affect client reporting and interpretation.
  • Hands-on, production-grade proficiency in SQL and Python for data extraction, validation, transformation, and workflow automation.
  • Comfort working across reporting and data-visualization tools, including AI-native environments, and a bias toward adopting better approaches.
  • Exposure to financial data platforms such as FactSet, Bloomberg, FIS, or similar, and comfort navigating real-world data environments.
  • Strong analytical mindset, including the ability to identify inefficiencies, evaluate tradeoffs, and propose solutions.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate technical findings into plain language for investment, operations, and client-facing stakeholders.
  • Ownership of reporting accuracy and timely delivery.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with workflow tools, automation, analytics, or process-improvement initiatives.
  • Curiosity, adaptability, and a learning orientation.

Responsibilities

  • Redesign and automate institutional client reporting workflows by mapping monthly, quarterly, and annual cycles, identifying manual steps and bottlenecks, and building auditable replacements in Python and SQL.
  • Build and improve reporting pipelines connecting portfolio, performance, and risk source systems to client reporting outputs, maintaining single-source-of-truth alignment across teams.
  • Deploy AI-assisted tools to accelerate report production, including data validation, exception flagging, and narrative drafting.
  • Own end-to-end production of client deliverables, including performance attribution, account summaries, and consultant reporting packages, ensuring accuracy and on-time delivery.
  • Strengthen reporting databases, reference tables, and reconciliation controls; investigate and resolve investment-data discrepancies and enforce data-governance standards.
  • Design client report templates and presentation formats for clarity and usability.
  • Partner with Investment, Product Management, Technology, and Compliance teams to gather requirements, fulfill custom client reporting requests, and coordinate cross-functional delivery.

Benefits

  • Competitive total compensation package including base salary and annual performance bonus.
  • Comprehensive benefits.
