Investment Platform Technology Co-op
About The Position
The Technology Co-op position offers a chance to learn about financial technology while working with the Science Research Technology team, which builds the data and technology foundation that powers science-driven investment research across Fixed Income and Equity. The team's work sits at the intersection of data engineering, investment research, and application development, so the Co-op will see firsthand how technology shapes the way investors generate insights and make investment decisions. Depending on interests and team priorities, the Co-op may help onboard new third-party and alternative datasets, build and maintain data pipelines, develop data quality and monitoring checks, or contribute to investor-facing tools that turn complex data into clear, actionable views. The Co-op will be in direct communication with both business and technology stakeholders and will be an integral part of the team.
Requirements
- The individual must be well organized, resourceful, motivated and have the ability to adjust to changing priorities.
- Good working knowledge of the Python programming language
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- A team-orientation, and willingness to “pitch in” when necessary
- Only Northeastern University students are eligible for this program.
Nice To Haves
- familiar in data analysis using Python (Pandas, Pyspark etc.)
- knowledgeable in building data solutions on cloud (AWS, Azure etc.)
Responsibilities
- Partner with data scientists to understand requirements and translate them to actionable work items.
- Participate in technical design of solutions
- Develop data pipelines to onboard datasets
- Evaluate and onboard alternative datasets, including web-scraped and other non-traditional sources.
- Participate in cutting-edge projects that use AI to enhance the quality of data analytics for investment research.
- Enable data analysis and data quality using various tools
- Test, rollout applications and help with solution adoption.
