About The Position

This role helps analyze investment performance data and communicate with senior management, field, and home office teams. The analyst will assist in performance reporting projects to identify and fix reporting defects, and prioritize performance reporting enhancements based on feedback. The position involves performing data quality checks and resolving errors with vendors, as well as producing and validating marketing materials used by the Field to define Advisory models/strategies. Data will be loaded to Field analytical tools like Morningstar and Ycharts to assist in quantitative analysis. The analyst will summarize analysis into user-friendly deliverables, translating technical data into business-appropriate communications and recommendations, including process change recommendations. Analytical results and recommendations will be reported in written, verbal, and presentation form. Other responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, math, statistics, business or related field.
  • Understanding of investment accounts including Brokerage, Advisory, Direct-to-fund, etc.
  • Understanding of investment vehicles; stocks, bonds, ETFs, Mutual Funds, illiquid alternatives, etc.
  • Understanding business processes to include research and data analysis.
  • Understanding of various types of investment performance calculations (IRR, TWR) and various performance statistics.
  • Understand portfolio risk exposures and benchmark characteristics.
  • Knowledge of performance attribution methodologies.
  • Expertise in analytical tools such as MS Excel, Business Objects, and PowerBI.
  • Proven excellence in problem solving, research, quantitative analysis and analytical working techniques.
  • Strong aptitude and desire for learning new platforms, investment products/strategies, analytic and presentation tools, analytic and quantitative techniques.
  • Ability to generate new ideas and go beyond the status quo; recognize the need for new or modified approaches.
  • Demonstrated ability to gather information systematically; consider a broad range of issues or factors; grasp complexities and perceive relationships among problems or issues; use accurate logic in analysis.
  • Initiative to independently prioritize and develop individual deliverables while still being a team player.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results and recommendations in written, verbal, and presentation form at an appropriate level for a business audience.
  • Ability to work effectively with people at all levels.
  • This position has been classified as an Associated Person under NMIS guidelines and requires fingerprinting and completion of required form.
