Investment Operations Associate
About The Position
The Investment Operations Associate supports Bitwise’s professionally managed crypto investment products and helps the company scale. The role reports to the Director, Head of Investment Operations and collaborates with internal systems, portfolio managers, the accounting team, service providers, and other teams. It owns, improves, develops, and creates operational processes, protocols, and procedures, supporting existing and new funds and bringing new products to market. The position supports portfolio management and trading operations, including settlement, reconciliations, transaction approvals, investor account maintenance, and processing investor subscriptions and redemptions. It also contributes to process improvement, documentation, testing, and operational risk resolution in a fast-paced environment with frequent interactions across business units.
Requirements
- 2–4+ years of industry experience.
- Strong technical and analytical skills and exceptional communication abilities.
- Collaborative, self-motivated, and adaptable work style, with high attention to detail in fast-paced environments.
- Knowledge of accounting and reconciliation of trades and settlements.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage and juggle multiple competing priorities and responsibilities.
- Working knowledge of reconciling transactions with brokers, custodians, and other counterparties.
- Track record of identifying operational risks, surfacing issues early, and driving solutions.
Responsibilities
- Provide full support to Bitwise’s Portfolio Management and trading platform.
- Maintain transaction data in internal systems.
- Update and reconcile trade spreadsheets, including daily cash and position reconciliation.
- Understand the context and execution of internal decisions.
- Contribute to ongoing process improvement.
- Monitor and instruct trade settlement with custodians and counterparties, resolving fails or breaks promptly.
- Support full processing of trades and resolve operational issues.
- Work closely with investor relations, portfolio management, and trading teams.
- Ensure operational processes are fully documented, tested, and adequately supported.
- Review subscription documents and other fund documentation on an ongoing basis.
- Ensure investor accounts are properly maintained.
- Process investor subscriptions and redemptions.
- Review custodial changes and client transfers.
- Verify client wire instruction changes.
