About The Position

Manulife Bank's Specialized Lending team is seeking a dynamic and driven Investment Lending Consultant for the Asian market. This role focuses on consultative sales of Investment and RSP loans, emphasizing relationship building and territory management. The ideal candidate will leverage industry knowledge to help mass market advisors deploy investment and insurance lending strategies to amplify their practices.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education or equivalent work experience in banking/insurance.
  • Minimum of 2 years previous experience with growing a client base.
  • Proven track record as a sales professional or high potential to become one.
  • Ability to analyze sales data and reports.
  • Business planning and territory management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships.
  • A strong passion for learning and development.
  • Fluency in English and Mandarin (written and spoken) is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, Salesforce, Power BI, and Adobe platforms is an asset.
  • Banking, investment, and Insurance knowledge is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and expand internal and external relationships within a specified geographic territory through strategic contact with mass market/mass affluent Financial Advisors and territory partners.
  • Educate advisors on investment lending products/strategies and assist them in completing sales.
  • Conduct meetings with advisors to drive sales and understand their practices.
  • Educate advisors on how investment leverage can help solidify relationships and grow their business.
  • Contact Financial Advisors unfamiliar with Manulife Bank to integrate specialized lending solutions for their clients using Salesforce, cold calling, and AI-powered technologies.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on all Manulife Bank specialized lending products, solutions, and strategies, particularly investment lending.
  • Move the sales process forward, educate advisors and their support staff on available Manulife Bank tools, processes, and technologies.
  • Achieve all sales and activity goals set out in yearly plans.
  • Assist advisors in demonstrating how to fill applications and review applications to ensure they are in good business order.
  • Assist with service cases and escalations from advisors, addressing concerns and resolving issues.
  • Conduct monthly touchpoints with RDS/PLA partners to discuss territory strategy.
  • Develop and execute quarterly and yearly business plans for their territories.
  • Participate in and help coordinate territory budget planning, in-person events, webinars, email campaigns, lead management, marketing creation, and presentations to grow investment lending.
  • Review and analyze sales data, reports, and other sales items to ensure sales goals are met and for forecasting business plans.
  • Create, analyze, and review advisor Book of Business and AUM reports, both internally and in collaboration with advisors.
  • Participate in a “Buddy System” to onboard and mentor new team members (for Senior ILCs).
  • Create and innovate marketing, sales campaigns, webinars, contests, and other initiatives to drive sales.
  • Share best practices and collaborate with other Manulife Bank business units.
  • Collaborate with other Manulife Wealth, Manulife Insurance, and Manulife Group representatives to build advisor interest in Manulife Bank investment lending solutions.
  • Comply with all best practices and stay updated on internal training modules for sales initiatives, industry and bank compliance, industry knowledge, and internal policies and procedures.
  • Adhere strictly to AML/KYC/KYA guidelines.
  • Attend and contribute to all team meetings and events, including short periods of travel to events such as Regional and National Sales Conferences.
  • Manage a company credit card, budgetary items, and expenses.
