About The Position

Develop various types of financial models to value debt and equity for mergers, acquisitions, and capital raising transactions. Perform various valuation methods: comparable companies, precedents, and discounted cashflow. Develop recommendations for product offerings, private equity transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and valuations. Prepare and review of materials used in the financing of clients, including investment memoranda, management presentations and pitchbooks. Perform due diligence, research, analysis, and documentation of live transactions. Develop relationships with new and existing clients in order to identify new business opportunities and expand the business. Assist to client meetings in order to support senior bankers to better understand clients’ needs and be able to provide meaningful recommendations. Prepare marketing materials that incorporate strong analytical content to support senior bankers’ ideas and recommendations to clients. Assist senior bankers on preparing plans for developing more business with clients based on the appropriateness of matching the bank’s product offering with clients’ needs. Read and utilize information in corporate financial statements and understand the economic essence of important classes of complex business transactions. Analyze companies’ accounting policies for a particular type of transaction and determine how the transaction can affect its primary financial statements as a result of proceeding with the transaction. Understand how taxes impact the structure and value of deals. Provide recommendations that fairly reflect the underlying economics of the firm's transactions using the lenses of accounting, economics, finance, and strategy. Consider current economic variables in order to be able to assess their impact on the business cycle of companies being analyzed. Evaluate research reports from different sources to be able to combine their results with clients’ management views in order to recommend an effective strategy and business plan. Understand practical realities behind organizational decision-making through meetings and phone conversations with clients. Apply tools from microeconomics to the analysis of competitive decision-making. A telecommuting/hybrid work schedule may be permitted within a commutable distance from the worksite, in accordance with Citi policies and protocols.

Requirements

  • Requires a Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Business Administration, Finance, Economics or related field and 3 years of experience as a Manager, Associate, Senior Associate or related position performing financial analysis and due diligence in connection with M&A, capital raising transactions, company and securities valuation for a financial services / professional services institution.
  • Alternatively, employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in the stated fields and 5 years of the specified progressively responsible, post-baccalaureate experience.
  • Analyzing historical financial statements to evaluate financial metrics including operating performance, profitability, working capital, and cash flow generation.
  • Valuation methods including comparable companies, precedents, discounted cashflow and weighted average cost of capital (WACC) estimation.
  • Assessing macroeconomic variables, industry trends, and research reports to evaluate market conditions, competitive dynamics, and company performance in Industrials and related sectors.
  • Reviewing accounting policies and performing financial due diligence including evaluation of quality of earnings, normalized EBITDA, EBITDA adjustments, and non-recurring items for valuation and transaction purposes.
  • Client relationship management and supporting transaction execution in connection with mergers and acquisitions and other strategic advisory assignments.
  • Equity and Capital Markets transactions including preparation of investor-facing and transaction-related materials and analysis for financing and execution processes.
