About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Investment Banking Associate to join our dynamic Small Cap Investment Banking team, offering an exceptional opportunity to contribute to high-impact M&A transactions and drive growth within a leading financial institution. The Small Cap Investment Banking team focuses on companies valued between $100 to $500 million in enterprise value. Initially, the team will concentrate on M&A opportunities in the business services, consumer and retail, and diversified industries verticals. Associates will work in New York and support a broader team of bankers across New York, Los Angeles, Dallas, Chicago and Atlanta.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of work experience in an investment banking front office, or related, role with a focus on M&A.
  • Bachelors' degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
  • Strong financial modelling skills.
  • Understanding of the transaction cycle and the steps in the process and is execution oriented.
  • Impeccable communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with senior professionals, clients and key stakeholders in other lines of business.
  • Self-directed, highly motivated, and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the "full cycle" of transactional execution including preparing marketing pitches, reviewing and formulating financial analysis, preparing and presenting internal committee memoranda and client presentations.
  • Play a leadership role in implementing the execution function including working with Analysts and other Associates, as well as assisting more senior bankers.
  • Develop content for strategic meetings with clients regarding M&A or capital market transactions.
  • Interact with senior team members and client management teams on a daily basis to execute transactions and discuss strategic alternatives.
  • Defining, guiding and reviewing detailed valuation analysis, including DCF, trading comparables, transaction comparables and LBO analyses.
  • Defining, guiding and reviewing detailed combination and other financial analyses during pitches and M&A transactions.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship and supervision to Analysts.
