About The Position

This internship/co-op position in Investment Banking at Scotiabank's Global Banking & Markets division in Montreal offers undergraduate students an introduction to the dynamic field of investment banking. Interns will engage in debt and equity financings, mergers and acquisitions, financial advisory, and business development across various industry sectors. The role involves performing complex financial analysis, including market comparisons, company valuations, and pro-forma financial modeling, as well as preparing company and industry-specific research. The position requires a strong work ethic, high professional standards, and the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently. Interns will also have access to the Global Banking and Markets Learning Program and networking opportunities with other students.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in post-secondary education in a Business, Science, Technology, Engineering, Economics or Math discipline
• Love to learn and envision yourself working for an international organization that heavily invests in your future.

• Proven record of outstanding achievement in academic and extracurricular activities

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and Analyze the financial needs of corporate clients, including the development of financial models, marketing materials and presentations
• Support client pitch and project execution efforts
• Financial and written analysis of companies and industries, including the development of valuation models, pro-forma financial statements and comparable company analysis, etc.
• Source data required to perform financial analysis
• Draft prospectuses and marketing presentations for transactions
• Prepare client presentations
• Apply product and capital markets knowledge to help clients achieve their financial objectives.
