About The Position

Jefferies is seeking an Investment Banking Associate to join its Aerospace, Defense & Government (AD&G) team in Charlotte. The Associate will play a critical role in executing M&A, strategic advisory, equity and debt financing transactions for domestic and international clients across the aerospace, defense, government services, and related industrial sectors. The role offers significant client exposure and direct interaction with senior bankers and executive management teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related discipline.
  • 3+ years of investment banking, corporate finance, transaction advisory, related experience or advanced degree.
  • Strong financial modeling and valuation skills.
  • Experience executing M&A and/or capital markets transactions.
  • Exceptional analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment while meeting tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior Aerospace, Defense, Government Services, Industrials, or related sector experience.
  • FINRA Series 79 and Series 63 licenses (or ability to obtain promptly upon hire).
  • MBA or advanced finance-related credentials

Responsibilities

  • Execute buy-side and sell-side M&A transactions, capital raises, and strategic advisory assignments.
  • Build and review sophisticated financial models, including: Discounted Cash Flow (DCF), Comparable Company Analysis, Precedent Transaction Analysis, Leveraged Buyout (LBO) Analysis, Merger and Accretion/Dilution Models.
  • Perform valuation, financing, and strategic analyses in support of client transactions.
  • Prepare client presentations, pitch materials, confidential information memoranda (CIMs), management presentations, offering memoranda, and other transaction-related documentation.
  • Conduct industry, market, and company-specific research focused on the Aerospace, Defense & Government sector.
  • Participate in due diligence processes and coordinate workstreams among internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage analysts and oversee work product to ensure quality and accuracy.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships through transaction execution and business development efforts.
  • Work closely with product partners across equity capital markets, debt capital markets, leveraged finance, restructuring, and sector coverage teams.
