About The Position

Our division works on some of the most complex financial challenges and transactions in the market today. Whether advising on a merger, providing financial solutions for an acquisition, or structuring an initial public offering, we handle projects that help clients at major milestones. We work with corporations, pension funds, financial sponsors, and governments and are team of strong analytical thinkers, who have a passion for producing out-of-the-box ideas. The Natural Resources Group is a global team with bankers around the world. The group has a significant presence with offices in New York, Houston, Toronto, Calgary, London, Hong Kong and Buenos Aires, among others. The group covers Metals & Mining, Chemicals, Power & Utilities, and Energy (including Alternative and Renewable Energy). The team in Houston covers primarily Energy transactions.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years' investment banking or equivalent experience
  • History of outstanding academic and professional achievement
  • Strong team orientation and a demonstrated ability to work effectively with team members in multiple groups and regions
  • Ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines
  • Ability to juggle changing priorities and a varied workload

Nice To Haves

  • Natural Resources banking and transaction experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Developing and strengthening client relationships.
  • Participating on advisory teams.
  • Structuring and executing a full range of financial transactions.
  • Creating and analyzing financial models.
  • Organizing and preparing client presentations.
  • Managing transaction processes.
  • Structuring transactions.
  • Developing financial models.
  • Performing customized company valuation analysis.
  • Actively involved in mergers and acquisitions (M&A) transactions and fixed income and equity issuances.
  • Organizing and preparing presentations that explain industry trends, assess clients' situations to provide necessary financial advice, and recommend strategies to meet client goals.
  • Coordinating teams of tax advisors, attorneys, and bankers for various transactions.
  • Leading due diligence processes.
  • Actively participating in the negotiations of legal documentation.
  • Maintaining client communication.
  • Helping Goldman Sachs structure client transactions.
