About The Position
Shea & Company is seeking highly motivated and resourceful junior bankers for its Investment Banking Analyst role in Boston. Analysts will be key members of the team, with significant client-facing responsibilities, involved in all aspects of deal execution for M&A and private placement transactions. The role focuses on the software industry, requiring candidates to be eager to learn about technology, financial analysis, and value maximization for clients and shareholders. The position involves executing live transactions, generating marketing and pitch materials, building financial models, and creating industry thought pieces and market maps within specific software verticals.
Requirements
- Final year undergraduate or graduate students with strong quantitative and problem solving skills
- Successful completion of coursework in finance, accounting, economics, or related fields
- Self-starter with a strong work ethic and ability to multi-task
- Superior written and oral communication ability
- Proficiency using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Interest in technology market trends
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
Nice To Haves
- Experience in software or knowledge of the industry
- Prior internship experiences in investment banking, consulting, venture capital or private equity are a plus
Responsibilities
- Compile various financial analyses, including projection models, valuation materials and data pack
- Assist in subsector coverage and research, as well as the creation of associated market primers
- Prepare pitchbooks, management presentations and related materials for clients
- Drive the execution of live engagements and the creation of new business in concert with the broader team
