About The Position

Baird’s Energy Investment Banking Group provides strategic advisory and capital markets services to clients in the energy sector. The Summer 2028 Analyst Internship is a 10-week program based in Houston, offering real transaction exposure and the opportunity to work with experienced investment banking professionals in a collaborative environment. Interns must be flexible to work full-time during the summer, and significant hours are required.

Interns provide analytical support for mergers and acquisitions, public offerings, and other financial advisory services. They help prepare company valuations, financial models, and marketing materials, and contribute to business development through research and preparation for client meetings and pitches. Interns work alongside junior and senior investment bankers and gain hands-on experience across deal stages, from research and due diligence to discussions with investor and corporate management clients.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program, with an expected graduation date in winter 2028 or spring 2029.
• A proven academic record and passion for finance; a finance degree is helpful but not required.
• Drive, resilience, and a strong work ethic.
• Ability to work independently and thrive in a collaborative setting.
• Strong mathematical, writing, and verbal skills.
• Relevant software proficiency.
• Must be flexible to work full-time during the summer; significant hours are required.
