About The Position

Baird’s Summer 2028 Investment Banking Analyst Internship is a 10-week program based in the Houston office. Interns join the Energy Investment Banking Group, supporting strategic advisory and capital markets work and gaining exposure to the energy sector through active transactions, ongoing projects, and interaction with industry leaders. Interns are valued team members who work alongside junior and senior investment bankers in a collaborative environment. The role requires full-time availability during the summer and significant hours.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program, with an expected graduation date in winter 2028 or spring 2029.
• Demonstrated interest in learning, teamwork, and taking on responsibility.
• Proven academic record and a passion for finance; a finance degree is helpful but not required.
• Drive, resilience, and a strong work ethic.
• Ability to work independently and thrive in a collaborative setting.
• Strong mathematical, writing, and verbal skills.
• Relevant software proficiency.
• Must be flexible to work full-time during the summer; significant hours are required.
• Must complete the Suited assessment as part of the application process.
• Baird is not currently hiring candidates who now or in the future require employment visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Provide analytical support for mergers and acquisitions, public offerings, and other financial advisory services.
• Prepare company valuations, build financial models, and create marketing materials.
• Support business development through research, analysis, and preparation for client meetings and pitches.
• Work with junior and senior investment bankers across stages of a deal.
• Contribute to transactions from conducting research through facilitating due diligence.
• Participate in conversations with investor and corporate management clients.
