About The Position

The Investment Banking Analyst - Capital Markets, Financing - 2027 is a full-time role within a two-year development program designed to accelerate the careers of aspiring investment banking professionals. This program offers hands-on training, exposure to leaders, and opportunities for professional development and upward mobility within Capital Markets at Capital One. The program aims to build a strong foundation in investment banking, fostering confidence, skills, and experience for career advancement. Participants will engage in challenging projects, client interaction, and gain exposure to various areas of Capital Markets and the Commercial Bank. Capital One is a Top 10 U.S. Bank with a strong Commercial Banking group and a rapidly growing Capital Markets team offering a broad array of products and services.

Requirements

• Currently have, or is in the process of obtaining, a Bachelor’s degree or higher with an expectation that you will complete your most recent full-time degree program by July 2027 or earlier
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
• Exceptional quantitative, analytical, problem solving and conceptual skills
• Knowledge of general accounting and finance principles
• Passion for the financial markets and the economy
• Strong Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative and dynamic environment
• Located in the continental United States
• In-person attendance at your assigned location, in accordance with Capital One’s hybrid working model, and any specific in-person attendance standards set by your individual team.

Responsibilities

• Create client marketing presentations, memoranda, and other materials
• Develop an in-depth understanding of investment banking products and services
• Conduct industry and market research
• Prepare and analyze historical and projected financial performance
• Assist in the preparation of valuation models
• Work closely with Capital One’s relationship bankers and Underwriting teams to provide Capital Markets insight and deepen the product and/or advisory suite for their clients
