About The Position

HilltopSecurities is seeking an Associate to join its Higher Education & Nonprofit Advisory practice in the New York office. This position will primarily support colleges, universities, academic medical centers, foundations, and other nonprofit organizations with strategic financial advisory services, capital planning, debt management, and public finance transactions. The Associate will work closely with senior bankers and advisors to analyze institutional financial performance, evaluate financing alternatives, develop client recommendations, and execute tax-exempt and taxable debt transactions. You are given the responsibility to analyze and structure deals for clients across all sectors. Our use of industry-specific software packages allows us to conduct extensive financial analysis and present proposals and detailed presentations to our clients. Requirements

  • Associate level position
  • Experience in investment banking or financial advisory services
  • Familiarity with financial analysis and modeling
  • Ability to develop client recommendations
  • Experience executing debt transactions (tax-exempt and taxable)
  • Proficiency in industry-specific software packages for financial analysis
  • Strong presentation skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience specifically within the Higher Education & Nonprofit Advisory sector
  • Knowledge of public finance transactions
  • Understanding of capital planning and debt management for nonprofit organizations
