About The Position

The Investment Associate will work directly alongside an Industry Analyst in an industry-focused team responsible for evaluating investments in companies globally. Dodge & Cox’s well-established reputation provides us unparalleled access to corporate management teams. We regularly host Fortune Global 500 executives at our offices in San Francisco.

Requirements

• One to two years of related work experience or an undergraduate experience that demonstrates exceptional potential
• B.A. or B.S. degree and an excellent academic record
• Basic accounting knowledge; coursework in economics and statistics is a plus
• Demonstrated interest in financial markets and value investing
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills, including experience with financial modeling
• Initiative and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Excellent communication skills and desire to work in a team-oriented environment
• All Dodge & Cox employees are required to be in their assigned office as noted in the job posting Monday - Thursday each week, with the option to work remotely on Friday.

Responsibilities

• Researching, analyzing, and performing due diligence on potential investments
• Monitoring portfolio investments, competitors, and industry developments
• Building and maintaining financial and valuation models
• Engaging with company management teams, industry experts, and sell-side analysts
• Creating investment-related presentation materials
