About The Position

The Investment Analyst will be responsible for assisting the diligence, monitoring, and portfolio analysis of the Jefferson investment portfolios, including public equities strategies, public fixed income, private equity, and private credit. The Analyst works closely with the MD, Multi-Asset and the Deputy CIO to construct and manage a portfolio of high-conviction external managers and to inform top-down asset allocation positioning. This role suits a professional with strong fundamental analytical skills, is comfortable working across asset classes, and the judgment to evaluate active managers, market exposures, and risk. The Analyst will work closely with the Office's external investment partners while supporting and ensuring the Office maintains its direct ownership of every manager relationship.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Less than 1 year of relevant investment experience, including demonstrated investment management and portfolio analysis at an endowment, foundation, OCIO, family office, fund-of-funds, consultant, investment manager, or via directly relevant applied courses during undergrad.
  • Strong fundamental and quantitative analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write clear, persuasive investment memos and present to senior audiences.
  • Sound judgment and intellectual honesty; willingness to form and defend independent views.

Responsibilities

  • Assist sourcing, screening, and evaluation of managers.
  • Support manager diligence including investment process review, portfolio analysis, factor and style attribution, operational due diligence coordination, and reference checks.
  • Support the production of detailed investment memos and present recommendations to the Managing Directors and CIO.
  • Maintain and expand the pipeline of marketable manager candidates and emerging managers.
  • Monitor existing managers, including ongoing performance reviews, exposure analysis, attribution, and personnel or process changes.
  • Analyze portfolio-level exposures including geographic, sector, factor, duration, credit quality, and liquidity profile.
  • Partner with the Director of Operations and Performance Reporting / Analytics to ensure timely and accurate performance, risk, and exposure reporting.
  • Support stress testing, scenario analysis, and liquidity management for the marketable portfolio.
  • Contribute to top-down views on markets, including capital markets assumptions, valuation, positioning, and tactical opportunities.
  • Produce written research on macro themes, sub-asset class structural shifts, and manager-level insights.
  • Evaluate passive and systematic implementation options and the appropriate balance between active and passive risk.
  • Collaborate with the Office's external investment partners as an extension of the team, leveraging their scale and specialty expertise while ensuring the Office retains decision-making and direct ownership of manager relationships.
