About The Position

Carnegie Mellon University's Investment Office manages the university's endowment portfolio and other long-term financial investments. The $4.3 billion investment portfolio supports the university's research and education mission. The office focuses on an equities-heavy portfolio, including private equity (VC, growth, buyouts), hedge funds, and traditional investments, leveraging the university's access to global investment opportunities and managers. The Investment Office fosters a challenging, intellectually stimulating, and driven work environment, balanced with an inclusive and collaborative approach. This 2-year program is designed to develop fundamental investment skills and competencies, allowing analysts to work closely with senior team members on due diligence, quantitative and qualitative analysis, portfolio modeling, and decision-making. Analysts will gain exposure to various asset classes in public and private markets globally, offering a unique learning and networking opportunity. The role involves working on real-world projects that can impact the endowment's future performance and collaborating with the Chief Investment Officer and other team members to help manage the endowment. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint

Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation of quarterly and ad hoc (as needed) Investment Committee presentations
  • Monitor existing portfolio investments
  • Support overall investment operations and maintain data integrity of investment manager database
  • Provide analytical support for senior team members
  • Assist with the due diligence of prospective investment opportunities
