About The Position

PGIM’s Corporate Mezzanine Fund is seeking an Analyst to help grow the initiative. We are looking for an intelligent and motivated individual who possesses an entrepreneurial desire to be part of a fast growing and important platform for PGIM. This requires astute credit analysis, financial modeling skillset, strong writing skills and attention to detail, and the ability to work within a small, collaborative, and dynamic team. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain direct buy-side experience across both senior and junior capital investments, with meaningful exposure to the investment committee and senior decision-makers. The Analyst will report to an Executive Director on the Central Mezzanine Team. This is a hybrid role based in Chicago, IL where the team is on-site 3 times a week.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with a strong academic track record; major in Finance or Accounting strongly preferred.
  • 1–3 years of relevant experience in a role emphasizing financial analysis, with demonstrated proficiency in interpreting financial statements and evaluating business risks.
  • Excellent analytical and accounting skills, including advanced knowledge of Excel.
  • Strong understanding of capital markets, including debt and equity security terms as well as valuation methodologies
  • Strong writing, interpersonal and communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in investment banking, asset management, portfolio management, leveraged finance, transactions advisory, or valuations
  • Participation in the Chartered Financial Analysts® (CFA) program

Responsibilities

  • Build and analyze detailed financial models to evaluate mezzanine debt and structured equity investments
  • Perform comprehensive underwriting, including credit analysis, company research, and comparable analysis to assess risk, return, and capital structure positioning
  • Prepare investment committee materials and support presentations, gaining direct exposure to senior leadership and the decision-making process
  • Support transaction execution and due diligence, coordinating with internal stakeholders and external advisors
  • Monitor an active portfolio of junior capital investments, including financial performance, liquidity, and key credit metrics
  • Assist with quarterly valuations, portfolio reviews, and ongoing portfolio management initiatives
  • Occasionally support fund and investor activities, including preparation of portfolio updates, fundraising materials, and marketing content
