Investment Accounting Intern (Full Year 2027)
About The Position
This internship involves performing various reconciliations functions, such as general ledger accounts and security positions. The intern will investigate and resolve reconciliation differences, interact with other departments, and update the investment system as necessary. Responsibilities include maintaining and reconciling records for mutual fund investments, preparing monthly reports, and assisting in the preparation of investment schedules for quarterly and annual statutory filings. The role requires working with some supervision, making a minimal range of decisions, and escalating to the manager when appropriate, while providing regular updates.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree Accounting, finance or economics.
- Demonstrate a basic knowledge and understanding of accounting rules.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve problems.

Responsibilities
- Gain knowledge of investments, including bonds, stocks, derivatives, private equities, etc.
- Process investment transactions within the investment accounting software system.
- Perform treasury functions and gain knowledge of how treasury interacts with investments.
- Create journal entries in the general ledger.
- Perform analysis on investments, including mutual funds.
- Prepare the statutory schedules for quarterly annual filings.
- Complete daily, monthly and quarterly reconciliations.
- Gain knowledge of statutory regulations and accounting principles.
- Increase communication skills interacting with other departments and outside the organization.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Complies with all policies and standards.
