About The Position

The Investment Accountant will be responsible for financial reporting, investor reporting, cash management, capital transactions, audit support, investment acquisitions, investment dispositions, and other general accounting functions.

Requirements

Financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP
Compile/assist with quarterly and annual financials
Prepare quarterly reporting work-papers and reconciling accounts
Prepare support for tables and charts in quarterly reports
Assist with ad hoc investor reporting, lender reporting, compliance certificates, and other ad hoc third-party reporting
Assist with management of day-to-day cash transactions of assigned funds/ventures
Daily oversight of bank accounts
Enter transactions into Yardi on a timely basis
Manage foreign exchange transactions and cash forecasting
Manage intercompany bill-backs and accounts payable process
Assist with management of allocation and documentation process for capital transactions
Prepare contribution and distribution calculations and packets
Assist with audit management for funds/ventures
Oversight of day-to-day audit process
Prepare PBC request list
Upload audit documents
Roll-forward prior year-end financials
Prepare current audited financial statements
Use Yardi software to house General Ledgers by entity
Enter journal entries in Yardi
Run reports for analytics and reporting in Yardi
Use Investment Management module in Yardi for cash, contributions, distributions and other internal transactions
Understand underlying agreements of each venture
Become familiar with specific sections of agreements relevant to overall structure (partnership expenses, fees, commitments)
Provide oversight and direction to third-party administrator, when applicable

Responsibilities

Prepare financials in accordance with US GAAP. Compile/assist with quarterly and annual financials. Prepare the quarterly reporting work-papers and reconciling accounts, referencing and tying out the consolidated financials, and prepare the support for the tables and charts that are included within the quarterly report, as necessary. Assist with any ad hoc investor reporting, lender reporting, compliance certificates, and other ad hoc third-party reporting requested.
Assist with the management of the day-to-day cash transactions of each assigned fund/venture. This includes but is not limited to daily oversight of bank accounts, entering transactions into Yardi on a timely basis, foreign exchange transactions and cash forecasting and managing the intercompany bill-backs and accounts payable process, as necessary.
Assist with the management of the allocation and documentation process for capital transactions between the funds/ventures and investors. Prepare contribution and distribution calculations and packets.
On an annual basis, or in accordance with the legal agreements, assist with the audit management for each of the funds/ventures. Assist with the oversight of the day-to-day process of the audit from start to finish. Assist with the preparation of the PBC request list, upload audit documents, roll-forward prior year-end financials, assist in preparing tables and charts when necessary, and prepare the current audited financial statements when required.
Use Yardi software to house all the General Ledgers by entity. Enter journal entries, run reports for analytics as well as reporting, and use the Investment Management module for cash, contributions, distributions and other internal transactions.
Understand the underlying agreements of each venture. Work to become familiar with the specific sections that are relevant to better understand the overall structure, including but not limited to: partnership expenses, fees, and commitments.
Provide oversight and direction to the third-party administrator, when applicable.
