About The Position

The Investment Accountant II ensures that investment accounting policies and procedures are correctly applied to accounting records. Under general supervision, this job works directly with asset management, portfolio management and acquisition/disposition teams.

Requirements

2+ Years Required
2 + years of accounting experience in real estate or an investment company
University (Degree) Preferred
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Accounting
Yardi experience
Proficient knowledge of fair value GAAP
Excellent communication (written and oral), with senior leaders and peers, facilitation, interpersonal and collaborative skills
Advanced in Excel

Responsibilities

May prepare certain SEC filings.
Prepares timely and accurate financial statements including GAAP and/or statutory work papers and supporting schedules to satisfy all investment accounting requirements.
Work directly with auditors to answer audit inquiries, and provide additional documentation as needed to support the completion of annual audits.
Analyzes financial information to ensure compliance with investment accounting policies and procedures.
Calculates performance returns.
Seeks guidance from senior Investment Accountants regarding issues that require more advanced knowledge and experience.
May prepare Funds’ shareholder reports and certain support work-papers.
Update Investor ad-hoc and consultant reporting
Complete debt compliance and draw requests
Process accounts payable requests
Manage cash reconciliations
Reconcile monthly investment level data imports
Work with third party tax preparers
