We are seeking an Investigator to examine and assess healthcare providers’ compliance related to healthcare legislation. This position conducts research and analysis, pulls information, cites regulations using regulatory language, reviews provider documents, and generates complete written outcome reports of enforcement Investigations a provider’s compliance with the law. This opportunity is especially attractive to someone who likes to research legal and regulatory requirements and has an analytical mind. This position requires an in-person interview at our HQ.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizen or authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance which requires the ability to meet federal residency requirements of 3 of the last 5 years within the United States.
  • Bachelor’s degree in public policy, public health, health administration, business, or a related field, from an accredited college/university
  • Minimum of two (2) years post-education work experience in a corporate environment; Master’s degree in a business or technical field to substitute for two (2) years’ experience
  • Possess a working knowledge of compliance laws, regulations, and healthcare industry practices
  • Possess a working knowledge of health insurance cost sharing requirements for in network and out of network healthcare providers
  • Detail-oriented and strong writing skills
  • Must be able to adapt to ever changing directions without sacrificing quality
  • Self-directed and deadline-driven. Must show initiative in this position.

  • Willingness to report to the Woodlawn, MD headquarters, or other designated location, to engage in project-related activities. Required attendance may occur at regular intervals and span multiple days (typically two).

Responsibilities

  • Requests and reviews providers’ documents to determine compliance with the relevant requirements.
  • Conducts investigations into potential violations by healthcare providers, insurers, or other relevant parties to assess providers’ compliance.
  • Drafts and reviews detailed, substantive investigative reports, complaint summaries, and findings analyses for internal and client review.
  • Collaborates with other departments or agencies involved in healthcare regulation and enforcement of a provider to determine compliance.
  • Prepares reports and provides recommendations based on investigative findings.
  • Assists in the development, review, and ongoing maintenance of project documentation, including User Guides, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and related artifacts based on evolving project or client needs.
  • Provides mentorship and guidance to junior investigators, supporting evidence collection, stakeholder interviews, and data analysis.
  • Facilitates and leads virtual meetings with providers and relevant parties to discuss investigative findings, address documentation requests, and support the resolution process.
  • Conducts regular follow-up and oversight of assigned accounts, ensuring timely resolution of issues and appropriate escalation as needed.
  • Maintains meticulous documentation of investigative activities, case developments, and final outcomes in accordance with organizational standards.
