About The Position

Ethos Risk Services is seeking an experienced Field Investigator to conduct surveillance and investigative activities to identify potential fraudulent insurance claims. The role involves stationary and mobile surveillance, capturing video and photographic evidence, and preparing detailed reports for clients. Investigators prepare by reviewing preliminary reports and case information, conduct covert surveillance from their vehicles, and produce thorough, court-ready reports summarizing activity and findings. At the end of the day, they submit case reports and upload video footage using a personal laptop. They work with field supervisors and operations teams, receiving regular guidance and mentorship. Assignments are generally intended to be within a two-hour drive of the investigator’s residence, though additional travel and occasional overnight stays may be required; overnight stays are covered by the company. Most cases start at 6:00 a.m., and workdays can vary from three to twelve hours depending on activity. Weekends and holidays are common workdays. The role often involves long periods alone in a vehicle in varying weather conditions, requiring alertness and readiness to use videography equipment without external distractions.
