About The Position

First Community is looking for an Investigative Specialist I for our Copperfield headquarters (NW Houston). This role involves reviewing and monitoring internal and external reporting systems to identify potential suspicious activity and/or Bank Security Act (BSA) violations. The specialist will also assist branches and back office departments with fraud-related matters, escalate findings to management, monitor account activity for fraud detection and prevention, and manage daily alerts from fraud detection software. A key responsibility includes conducting research and making recommendations for filing Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs).

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or GED equivalent or equivalent work experience
  • One to three years of fraud investigations, risk management, or related experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Financial services, banking, or credit union industry experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing and monitoring multiple internal and external reporting systems to assist in identifying potential suspicious activity and/or Bank Security Act (BSA) violations.
  • Assisting branches and back office departments on all matters relating to potential fraud.
  • Escalating all findings to management for review and further action.
  • Monitor account activity and perform analysis to detect and prevent possible fraud.
  • Manage alert lists generated by fraud detection software daily.
  • Conduct research and make recommendations to file SARs.
