Requirements

• At least five years of experience as an investigative reporter
• Proven investigative skills, including developing sources and accessing open records
• Strong storytelling, writing, and on-air abilities
• Knowledge and effective use of broadcast, digital, and social media tools
• Bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism or related field

Nice To Haves

• Experience doing computer-assisted reporting research and database analysis is a plus
• A proven track record: You’ve spent years in the trenches of investigative journalism and have the "receipts" to prove it.

• Aggressive curiosity: You aren't satisfied with the surface level; you keep digging until you find the truth.
• Technical savvy: You’re comfortable using data tools and modern newsroom technology to enhance your storytelling.

Responsibilities

• Enterprise exclusive investigations: Dig deep to uncover long- and short-term stories that matter specifically to our Arizona community.
• Own the multi-platform approach: Craft your stories for streaming, social, and digital first, ensuring our audience gets the facts wherever they are.
• Expose wrongdoing: Hold local and state officials accountable through aggressive reporting and meticulous research.
• Analyze the data: Use data-driven insights to identify trends and provide context that makes complex issues relatable and relevant.
• Lead big-story coverage: Jump into major breaking news with authority, providing the investigative "why" behind the "what."
• Collaborate for impact: Work closely with the News Director, Senior Producer of Special Projects, and our marketing team to ensure your stories reach the widest possible audience.
• Build and maintain your network: Cultivate a deep bench of sources and contacts to ensure a steady stream of exclusive, high-stakes content.
