• Killer news judgment: You know what’s a "must-see" and what’s just noise, and you have the script-approval chops to prove it.
• Strategic thinking: You’re focused on improving the product and raising ratings while smartly managing resources and overtime.
• Creative spark: You’re constantly mining social media and viewer submissions for the next great story idea.
• Relentless energy: You thrive in the fast-paced world of sports and are ready to jump into the weekend on-call rotation to own the big moments.
• Collaborative spirit: You work seamlessly with the News Director, Digital Director, and Managing Editor to implement winning strategies.
• Bachelors in Journalism
• 5 years experience as Executive Producer or Senior Producer in television news

Responsibilities

• Oversee the creation, planning, and daily delivery of live and multi-platform sports content that feels urgent and essential.
• Collaborate daily with our digital team to ensure our sports coverage isn't just on social media, but driving the conversation there.
• Maximize our exclusive access and partnerships with professional teams to deliver content our competitors simply can’t match.
• Develop a strategy to highlight local high school and youth sports, making "Arizona’s Family" the home for the stories that matter to local families.
• Lead a team of producers, reporters, and anchors with a focus on "buy-in," providing consistent feedback and monthly reviews to keep the bar high.
• Analyze the totality of our news blocks to ensure stories evolve and repetition is eliminated—keeping our audience engaged from the first whistle to the final buzzer.
• Be the aggressive voice in the room when sports news breaks, ensuring we are first and most accurate across all platforms.
