Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree program at an accredited college or university.
  • One year of full-time, paid, professional experience in either investigation, law enforcement, criminal justice and/or auditing, or a related field that is determined to be acceptable by the Office of Talent.
  • A master's degree in Criminology, Criminal Justice, or a related field that is determined to be acceptable by the Office of Talent.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the current uses and capabilities of personal computers, databases and their software applications, including Word and Excel.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of effective communications techniques and procedures.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of effective interviewing techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze, assess and draw conclusions based on a multitude of complex documents and data, including but not limited to policies, procedures and financial documents.
  • Demonstrated ability to write succinct and organized reports.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion on sensitive and confidential matters.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact and collaborate with others effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize tasks and assignments, manage time efficiently, meet deadlines and multitask.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret District policies and guidelines to District personnel.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn routine auditing practices and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Review and evaluate intakes and complaints generated through various methods to include the OIG complaint form, OIG complaint line, and OIG emails and other stakeholder inquiries.
  • Conduct all relevant follow up to complaints by collecting documentary evidence, conducting research, and making inquiries through interviews, searching various databases and open source intelligence to form findings, conclusions and recommendations.
  • Reviews acquired documents, searches computer records and provides analyses of documents.
  • Researches various informational databases to collect relevant data and other facts and performing complex computations and analyses concerning data collected.
  • Use fundamental analytical and research techniques to collect and evaluate relevant data sets from District source databases to assist in support of investigative and regulatory activities.
  • Ability to effectively communicate findings and recommendations to supervisors.
  • Provide administrative support, research, analysis, and evaluation of information to assist investigators in their assigned work including research and analysis of public records, computer data-base records to support findings and recommendations.
