About The Position

Hood Container Corporation is seeking a Warehouse & Inventory Supervisor to lead our warehouse and inventory operations at our Chicago plant. In this key leadership role, you’ll oversee all aspects of receiving, storing, moving, and shipping raw materials and finished goods—ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and safety every step of the way. You’ll play a vital role in maintaining inventory accuracy, coaching your team, and supporting our production and shipping goals. Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in warehouse operations, inventory control, or logistics (manufacturing environment preferred).
  • 2+ years in a supervisory or lead role.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (Amtech preferred).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented, with a strong focus on accuracy and safety.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • High school diploma or GED required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the corrugated packaging industry is preferred.
  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain one is preferred.
  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field is a bonus.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily warehouse operations including receiving, staging, storing, and shipping.
  • Maintain a high level of inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts and physical inventory.
  • Ensure timely and correct transactions in Amtech (ERP system).
  • Coordinate loading/unloading of materials and outbound shipments to meet deadlines.
  • Track and manage high-value materials; reduce loss, damage, and obsolete inventory.
  • Lead and develop a team of warehouse and shipping employees.
  • Foster a culture of safety and compliance with OSHA and company standards.
  • Optimize warehouse layout and space usage for efficiency and safety.
  • Collaborate with other departments to improve material flow and order accuracy.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, driving continuous improvement.
