About The Position

GEMCORE is a rapidly growing multi-state family of companies headquartered in Hudson, OH. GEMCO Medical, a division of GEMCORE, is a well-established and growing healthcare distribution company shipping over 15,000 packages a day with detailed accuracy. We have an opening for an Inventory Control Supervisor. The Inventory Control Supervisor's main responsibility will be to manage the daily activities within our distribution center of a team of Warehouse Associates that pick, pack, and ship healthcare products and medical supplies. The Inventory Control Supervisor will also hold a key position in welcoming new employees and ensuring all Associates are engaged within the company culture. We offer strong growth potential, ongoing training and development. Our Distribution Center is a clean and comfortable environment: not dusty, dark, or dirty. Fully air-conditioned in the summer and heated in the winter. No protective clothing required. Dress code is comfortable clothing (sneakers, t-shirts, jeans, etc. all acceptable). This is a second shift opportunity with the work schedule being Monday-Friday from 6:15 a.m.-3:00 p.m. Medical/dental/vision insurances are available for full-time employees. The position is located in Salt Lake City, UT.

Requirements

  • Thorough working knowledge of inventory/purchasing policies and procedures.
  • Good organizational skills and a high attention to detail is required.
  • Complete knowledge of warehouse and inventory control policies and procedures.
  • Qualified candidates must have the ability and desire to communicate professionally with people at all levels of the organizations.
  • At least 1-3 years in inventory control or materials management experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years manager or supervisor experience.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Experience and familiarity with using a Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Must be computer literate and proficient with D365, GP, Brightree, MS Office and MS Excel.
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, bend and lift up to 75 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Healthcare or consumer product experience preferred.
  • "Reach" truck experience a plus.
  • Associates degree or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily activities within our distribution center of a team of Warehouse Associates that pick, pack, and ship healthcare products and medical supplies.
  • Welcome new employees and ensure all Associates are engaged within the company culture.
  • Conduct daily cycle counts, process into a computer database.
  • Investigate inventory shortages and discrepancies.
  • Lead a cross-functional Receiving team by monitoring associate productivity and accuracy of completed work.
  • Record and monitor expiration dates on all inventoried products and notify appropriate personnel when material has expired.
  • Monitor all return shipments from customers and ensure accuracy of returned product.
  • Ensure the accuracy of restocking the product.
  • Develop and prepare reports that help decipher inventory problems and submit analysis on a regular basis.
  • Work with warehouse leadership in tracking inventory movement, quantities transferred between locations, and cycle count adjustments.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to reduce slow-moving inventory.
  • Administer all vendor returns from beginning to end.
  • Aid in organizing and maintaining warehouse bins for all stocked items, as well as establishing new processes and procedures.
  • Update and maintain item information in company databases.
