About The Position

Riverbay Corporation is seeking an Inventory Utility Person to manage the receiving, storage, and issuance of all items, materials, and equipment. This role involves performing regular inventories, maintaining organized and safe storage areas, and keeping accurate records of stock. The position requires attention to detail in inspecting items for defects, managing stock levels, and ensuring proper disposal or return of damaged goods. The Inventory Utility Person will also be responsible for updating safety data sheets and performing additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid NY/NJ/CT/PA driver license.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous warehouse or similar experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of fork lift operation is a plus
  • Knowledge of Yardi purchasing and work order systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, store and issue all items, materials and equipment ordered by Riverbay or furnished by contractor.
  • Perform and complete periodic inventories (e.g. daily, monthly, annually.)
  • Pack and unpack items to be stocked on shelves in stockrooms, warehouses, or storage yards.
  • Verify inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of stock, and investigate discrepancies as well as report errors.
  • Store items in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouses, tool rooms, supply rooms, or other appropriate areas.
  • Help maintain warehouse organized, (daily or weekly) clean and in safe conditions.
  • Determine proper storage methods, identifications and stock location based on turnover, environmental factors, and physical capabilities of facilities.
  • Keep records on the use or damage of stock or stock-handling equipment.
  • Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisors.
  • Properly dispose of damaged or defective items, or return them to vendors.
  • Issue or distribute materials, products, parts, and supplies to departments or coworkers, based on information from incoming work orders.
  • Obtain merchandise from bins or shelves for distribution.
  • Keep records of outgoing inventory/supply ordered.
  • Inspection of waste items (lightbulbs, batteries, etc.)
  • Recommend disposal of excess, defective, or obsolete stock but do not dispose without necessary approvals.
  • Update SDS list with all new products
  • Performance of additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
