About The Position

The inventory tech is responsible for managing and maintaining accurate inventory records, tracking stock levels and utilizing inventory data to support decision making. The inventory tech plays a crucial role in optimizing inventory management practices to minimize stockouts and discrepancies.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience or knowledge in the automotive industry.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts audits to investigate missing parts by pulling reports from powerlink
  • Verifies the accuracy of pulled parts to ensure the correct items are retrieved
  • Prioritizes locating parts marked as missing to facilitate same-day sales
  • Reviews previous part history and conducts thorough checks across QC, returns and distribution areas
  • Puts away parts received from dismantling onto shelves, reviewing each part for accuracy before placement, segregating them based on used or aftermarket status and organizing returns truck items
  • Updates computer records by scanning or locating each part
  • Captures photos of parts as requested by the sales team. Additionally, photograph any existing damage that might be challenging to interpret through damage codes
  • Provides clear and detailed part descriptions, specifying what each part may or may not include
  • Performs inventory modifications, including updating damage codes, adjusting locations, adding photos of parts, updating pricing, creating new inventory entries, and deleting existing inventory entries as needed
  • Receives incoming inventory and accepts or rejects material based on whether it fits part descriptions and meets Wilbert's expectations
  • Unloads shipments of incoming used or aftermarket inventory and inspects parts upon arrival to ensure no excess damage occurred during shipping
  • Performs inventory reconciliation, organizes and compresses parts on shelves to make room for incoming inventory, and ensures proper storage space while discussing the need for additional storage when necessary
  • Conducts warehouse adjustments, including building new warehouse space or shelving as required, while also identifying and proposing solutions for inventory level and warehouse spacing issues, utilizing various tools and machinery such as Excel, Google Sheets, PowerLink, and forklifts, as well as employing online resources and physical equipment like flatbeds, delivery trucks, and power tools
