About The Position

Vanderbilt Health is a large, comprehensive academic health system with eight hospitals and over 180 clinics, dedicated to providing world-class care and advancing medicine through patient care, education, and research. The SC MCJCHV Central Supply department is seeking an Inventory Specialist to coordinate the purchase and control of supplies and equipment. This role involves identifying and purchasing materials, maintaining accurate inventory, forecasting needs, and potentially managing product information, warranty files, and patient charge capture for medical supplies. Requirements

  • Data Entry (Intermediate): The ability to transcribe information from the original source into an electronic system according to written and verbal instructions efficiently and accurately.
  • Cost Allocation (Intermediate): Analyzing and recording costs to the appropriate accounts.
  • Purchasing (Fundamental Awareness): Understands the concepts behind supplier relations and supply chain management. Handles supplier-related activities, requests for pricing, and purchases of goods and services while ensuring appropriate costs, schedules, quality, deliveries, terms, and conditions.
  • Inventory Management (Intermediate): Monitors material movement into and out of stock, reconciles inventory balances, and maintains adequate inventory levels.
  • Quality Assurance (Novice): Understands the goal of increasing organizational productivity and individual performance by making the products and services within your work assignments more efficient and more effective.
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2 years relevant work experience

Nice To Haves

  • May maintain product information and warranty files.
  • May be responsible for patient charge capture for dispensed medical supplies to ensure accurate patient billing.

Responsibilities
