About The Position

Celerion is seeking an Inventory Specialist to assist the Sample Management Lead in all aspects of sample management activities. This includes sample preparation for consumer panels, internal panels, short-term ad hoc research, and external research projects. The role is based at Celerion's Richmond, Virginia locations, which focus on consumer opinion studies related to nicotine and tobacco products. The hours are Monday-Friday, 7:30 am - 4:00 pm, flexing between 30-40 hours per week based on workload. Evening availability is needed a few times a month (scheduled two weeks in advance), and occasional weekend availability is a plus. This position is eligible for full benefits.

Requirements

  • One year of experience working with an electronic inventory system required
  • Solid computer skills; experience with Windows and Microsoft applications (Microsoft Word and Excel are strongly preferred)
  • Excellent organizational skills, including attention to detail and follow through
  • Easily adaptable to a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
  • Ability to work in required work environment, including but not limited to exposure to second hand smoke from combustible cigarettes and vapors from electronic cigarettes on a daily basis.
  • According to the Code of Virginia 18.2-371.2B, employees must be 21 years of age to work around tobacco products.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates degree in material management, logistics, supply chain or any related field preferred
  • Demonstrate an ability to work a flexible schedule (day shift, night shift, weekends)
  • Demonstrate an ability to travel between locations using personal vehicle (mileage reimbursed, and driving record check)
  • Occasional weekend availability is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Execution of departmental objectives and adherence to company policies and procedures
  • Timely delivery of samples to appropriate personnel for study conduct
  • Assisting the Sample Management Lead with maintaining visibility and traceability of all samples, from receipt through disposal, for internal and external projects
  • Ensuring all sample prep activities are carried out on time and according to research protocols
  • Ensuring that all samples are disposed of according to established policies and procedures
  • Serving as a point of contact to receive all samples from various client personnel
  • Taking part in biannual cycle counts
  • Serving as a back-up for other departments
