Inventory Specialist
About The Position
The Inventory Specialist is responsible for inventorying all vehicles at the facility within company timelines. Using company-provided tools, the specialist documents each vehicle’s condition according to company standards, including completing an inventory and taking supporting photographs. The role also directs traffic flow in the receiving area using a system of priorities to ensure vehicles are processed promptly. A thorough understanding of Copart policies is used to help facilitate the Copart experience and offer solutions to meet customer needs. The position involves monitoring, maintaining, and organizing the receiving area; operating a camera and handheld inventory device to process incoming vehicles; determining the operational capability of motor vehicles; completing required vehicle inspection inventories (TLEs); maintaining an inventory of materials used; and complying with company policies, procedures, and safety requirements. The role requires working outdoors in all seasons.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Ability to work outdoors in all seasons.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
Nice To Haves
- General automotive knowledge or mechanical aptitude.
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to operate handheld devices.
- Driver’s license.
- Bilingual skills.
Responsibilities
- Monitor, maintain, and organize the receiving area.
- Operate a camera and handheld inventory device to process incoming vehicles.
- Determine the operational capability of motor vehicles.
- Complete vehicle inspection inventories (TLEs) on required vehicles.
- Maintain inventory of all materials used.
- Comply with company policies and procedures and safety requirements.
- Document vehicle condition, including completing inventories and taking supporting photographs, within company standards.
- Direct traffic flow in the receiving area to ensure timely processing of vehicle inventory.
- Offer solutions to meet customer needs in accordance with Copart policy.
