About The Position

The inventory specialist performs all tasks necessary for the daily operations of the warehouse. Working collaboratively with the facilities management specialist, this position is responsible for maintaining the general upkeep of the warehouse, checking in and checking out all goods that are delivered to the warehouse and maintaining a tracking database for the goods received. This position ensures that all goods with respect to the college assets or non-asset equipment items are handled in accordance with the protocol established by the facilities management specialist for receiving and tracking shipped items that are received at the Leestown Warehouse.

  • 3 years of related experience

Responsibilities

  • Ensure asset and equipment function and disposals are handled in accordance with KCTCS and BCTC policies and procedures and in compliance with all state statues and federal requirements.
  • Assists with the receiving function for the college. Executes all tasks for shipping and receiving at the Leestown warehouse and reports any problems to the facilities management specialist.
  • Assists with the tagging of new equipment upon receipts, enters item into inventory management system, and produces asset management data annually.
  • Performs data entry in PeopleSoft inventory system, mobile asset or an excel spreadsheet for the recording of delivered goods and tracked assets.
  • Responsible for the collection and processing of college surplus property.
  • Assist facilities management specialist with the removal process for inventory and the follow-up to ensure asset removal.
  • Assist the facilities management specialist with yearly inventory audit and asset management as needed.
  • Serves as back up on closing purchase orders in absence of facilities management specialist.
  • Manages the recording and destruction of records.
  • Tow Motor Experience – ability to safely operate a forklift.
  • Must be able to physically lift and move up to 50 lbs.
  • Performs additional assignments as requested.
